Family Time at the Corn Maze

I {big, puffy heart} my family.
What I love more, is spending great, quality time with them.
We had a chance on Sunday to  put our crazy, busy lives aside, and S-L-O-W down briefly for some fun time together.
What better way than to visit one of the local corn mazes.

So grab your candy corn and enjoy the photos.

Welcome to the...

A view of the property from the hayride.
 Ahhhh- serenity!

Hubby is trying his hand at the rubber duck race.

And the winner is...Hubby Jagger!
(No one was really racing him because the other pump was broken. Ha!)

The football toss~

Sid takes a shot.

Score!

And then Jess gives it a whirl...

Then on to the tractor track!

And Jess is rounding the corner...

Sid at the finish line...(not really!)

 Entering the corn maze!

 Our first stop~

Strategizing over which path to take first.
We had to answer trivia questions to determine which way to go!

An old abandoned shack in the maze.
A little spooky if you ask me.
I'm glad nothing jumped out at us!
We would have created a new path in the maze~

(Christmas card quality. Don't you think so?)

Can't wait until our next family outing~

While you're here check out the new items added to my etsy store~

Thanks for stopping by~

One Down, Two To Go: Graduation 2013

Our oldest son graduated from high school yesterday in a hour long ceremony at the Raleigh Convention Center in the Capital City.  He was 1 of 523 students at his high school to receive this prestigious  honor- a high school diploma.  A lot more students than the 92 I graduated with more than 22 years ago.

My hubby invited family over for a pre-graduation party.  Unfortunately, the timing was horrible because we are installing hardwood floors downstairs. My kitchen looked like this...

and the stove was sitting here...

in the middle of the dining room.  So that meant no cooking for me.  So I quickly put a plan into action because hubby didn't want to call off the "party." We decided to have the party in the graduates bedroom.  He has the bonus room upstairs so it was plenty big. This is what we came up with...

We put up a few decorations outside and enjoyed a pre-graduation party, even with all the banging and slamming downstairs from the installers.

I made a few party favors for our guests.  Ironically, his high school colors are the same as East Carolina- his college choice for the fall.

The party turned out better than I expected, and so glad that everyone enjoyed their time together for this momentous occasion.

Enjoy the photos~

Main Street Christmas

Hubby Jaggar and I joined in the festivities in our town's Christmas Holiday celebration last night. The weather wasn't too cold, but chilly enough to enjoy the hot chocolate and cookies provided by the local businesses. (We were in the 70's earlier this week.  I wore sandals to work and short sleeves, so I welcomed the long sleeve weather.)

Luminaries lined the streets around the Cultural Arts Center.

This Christmas tree is made from discarded books from the library. It is proudly displayed in the foyer of the Public Library.

A close up of the folded pages.  The person /people who folded all those pages had to have a ton of patients and great company.

A live Nativity with the reading of the biblical Christmas Story.  This was my favorite.  Jesus is the Reason for the Season.

The lighting of the Christmas Tree at the Methodist Church.

One of the decorated houses in the Historic District.  I love the charm of older homes.

We still have time to mail our letters to Santa.

Other activities included pictures with Santa in the Town Hall, crafts for the kids in the Cultural Arts Center, music on the lawn outside the Public Library by local school bands, a hayride from the church to the library, and a chit-chat with Mrs. Claus in one of the Activity rooms.

The crowd was large, but not so large that one couldn't enjoy the the experience.

What does your town/city do to celebrate the season?

Thanks for stopping by~

Defying Gravity at the Trampoline Park

I often ask myself, "What will they come up with next?" Don't you?

This evening I want to share with you a new adventure our family had to an indoor trampoline park.

Our youngest takes gymnastics at a local gym for gymnasts.  She loves it and constantly BEGS for a backyard trampoline.  Hubby Jagger is consistent with his response and never wavers. "No" is always his reply. "It will kill the grass and I don't want to be responsible for kids who may get hurt on it."  Point taken.

We heard a few months ago of a new trampoline park in Durham.  Our oldest has gone with a few friends, but never our middle and youngest.  So I thought this would be a great weekend to go.  I'm a fanatic for family activities. I love spending time together - minus any complaining.  Hubby Jagger agreed to take the kids.  We loaded up the kids and we were off to yet another new adventure.

Enjoy the visit~

Wall to wall trampolines~

This guy jumped a little to high~

So did this guy~

Jess is pondering which move she is going to make into the foam pit~

Sid is just happy. No reason needed~

Another view

We ended the night by taking the kids to the new two story Chic-Fil-A!

The kids being silly.  It's looks like Jess is going to barf. Yuck!

The kids had a blast.  We only had one broken toe. ( Yes, Jess broke her toe!) The kids are already asking to go back.

Even though I wasn't smart enough to come up with the idea of a trampoline park.  It is , however, a great way for the kids to release energy.
