Vanilla...and a Giveaway on Top!

Back in April I painted the interior of my house a calming blue. Click here for a refresher.  I needed a change. Something relaxing and a color with a little personality but not overwhelming.

As you know, I got married a little over a month ago.  Click here for a refresher.  My husband and I debated of whether to sell or rent my property.  Due to the horrible market for sellers, we decided to rent the property with hopes of a brighter outcome in a few years.

My hubby decided that a property manager would be great for taking over the property.  I wasn't totally convinced, but I went with the idea.

So what does a property manager have to do with blue paint?  ALOT. Mr. Property Manager comes over to look over the property.  The FIRST comment he makes is "This blue paint has to go." WHAT? It's only three months old. "And the carpet needs to be changed." REALLY? It's only four years old.  He stated that the house needed to be appealing to EVERYONE and going neutral is the only way to do it.

I put on my pouty face and said , "OK." Todd and I purchased khaki paint, rollers, and lots of painters tape from Home Depot. And got to work on making the house VANILLA.

We transformed the walls.  The carpet was next.

The house is officially vanilla.  I hope the new tenants add some tasty sprinkles.

I have two sets of back to school die cuts  I would like to give away.  Each set consists of 4 cut outs.  These cut outs are great for tags, scrapbooks, cards, invitations, and the list goes on.  How would you use them?  Let me know in my comments section.  To win, you must leave a comment and be a follower. Easy Peasy~

Have a great weekend~

Cloud Cover

Cloudy days change my mood.
I'm mellow, down, drained, and at times cranky.
I need my space.
I need sunshine.
And lots of it.
Lots and lots.

The sun makes me smile.
It gives me energy.
It's my happy juice.

Cloudy days are not always related to the weather.
Cloudy days in our lives can be brought on by various things in our life.
Overwhelmed with whatever.
Death.
Money issues.
Family issues.
And the list goes on.

It is on days like this we need a little, some, or a lot of sunshine.
Today I wanted to share a little sunshine with some of my teammates.
I'm not a "touchy-feely" person with my teammates, but I love working with them.
We all play off the feelings of each other.
So, even though there was cloud cover inside the building and gray skies outside,
I wanted to brighten their day, even if it was momentary.

So last night I pulled out my handy, dandy Cricut, some yellow patterned paper,  and a Studio G stamp from the dollar bin at Michaels and created this.

I sealed it in an envelope and placed it in their mailboxes in the workroom early this morning.

What are some things you do to brighten the "cloudy" days of those around you?

The first two responses in my comment section will win a package of 10 sunshine flat note cards- sorry no envelopes.

One catch. Maybe two.  You must be a follower of my blog and promise to spread a little sunshine to others:-)
