Thank You, I'm Honored~
I've been nominated by Nicole at Pencil Skirts and Noodle Necklaces with the Illuminating Blogger Award.
Thanks, Nicole~
Nicole is a relative of a former student I taught in kindergarten many years ago back home. The mother of that sweet little boy,Josef, posted a link to Nicole's blog post on Facebook one night. Out of curiosity, I decided to see what pencil skirts and noodle necklaces were all about. The day I clicked on that the post in Facebook, I became addicted to her blog. She's a down to Earth gal who has great stories to share of being in the workplace and the memories she is making with her two kids and her hubby. Be sure to check her out....like NOW (lol)!
Thanks, Nicole~

BOO!
by Mrs. Lundquist at

This is part of an October Linky by Tori at Tori's Teacher Tips
I usually avoid the "tag" games. It seriously wears we out trying to answer all the questions and then attempting to find 5-10 blogs who have not been "tagged." I've turned down three awards in the last few months due to the "sweat" that goes into it.
But this ONE is unique.
It's a LINKY PARTY for sharing October Goodies.

It's a LINKY PARTY for sharing October Goodies.
If you've been booed, copy and paste the above pic and these "rules" into your post.
1. Give a shout out to the blogger who booed you and link back to their site!
2. Share 3-5 October activities, books, products (yours or someone else),
or freebie(s) that you love!
3. Share the Boo love with 5 bloggers- make sure you check this link to make sure you don't boo someone again:

And don't forget to tell them that they have been BOOED!
4. Link up {here} so that others can find you and read about your October ideas! And while you are there... check out the other great blogs!
Here Goes:
You can find these Halloween Treats at Casey's (Second Grade Math Maniac) TPT Store.
And this from The Glyph Girls!
Thanks for stopping by.
I will be posting Win It Wednesday soon.
So come back now, you hear?

It's an Etsy Thing
For the last few months I have been debating whether or not to open an Etsy shop. Once upon a time, years ago, I had an Etsy store, but closed it for reasons beyond mentioning.
So after a lot of thought, I decided to give it another go. I love my Cricut. I love making things with my Cricut.Which you already knew.I now want it to help me support my crafting habit. Marketing is everything, I know. However, the marketing ability is what I lack. So if you have any ideas or suggestions please lead me in the right direction.
For now, visit my Etsy store named "Just Poppies." Etsy wouldn't let me name it Field of Poppies after my blog. Bummer! Invite your friends over as well. I'll continue to add some really cute items as well. If you have any ideas for items to make, leave a comment- especially teacher related items.
I've added my store link in the upper left hand corner of my blog. Check it out...

Keep Calm And...Play Tag!
Keep Calm And...
Play a friendly game of BLOG Tag
Play a friendly game of BLOG Tag
I've been tagged by Casey at Second Grade Math Manics to play a game of tag. Luckily this game requires NO physical running. (I'm totally out of shape.) The rules for this tag are as follows:
- I must answer the 10 questions she has created (or adapted.)
- I must tag 10 others and create 10 questions for them to answer.
- Leave a comment on each of the 10 "chosen" blogs to tell them about the game of tag.
Not too difficult, so here goes:
1. What is the most played song on your IPOD (or other mobile device)?
Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri
2. What is the last movie/tv show/book that made you cry?
Toy Story 3- the love between Andy and Woody gets to me every time
3. What story does your family ALWAYS tell about you?
No story for me~
4. If you could have your dream second home, would if be a mountain hideaway or a beach house?
This is a hard one~ I love the serenity of being in the mountains and I love the sound of rolling waves from the ocean~ So maybe I could have a second and third home- LOL!
5. What is the furthest you have ever been away from home?
I don't get out much, so the longest distance I've been away from home would be Florida.
6. What is the oldest item you own?
The oldest item I own is a high school year book
7. If you had to pick 1 place in your town to bring a tourist, where would you take them?
Bass Lake~ great picnicking, paddle boating, fishing, and "chill"axing at it's finest
8. What one food do you never get tired of?
Watermelon~ Yummy, Yummy, Yummy to my tummy
9. You have to move out of the country RIGHT now. Where do you go?
Hmmm~ Italy
10. How many days do you have until Summer?? (Or for my year round buddies, until this school year is over!)
About 53 days until the school year is over
I'm tagging...
with the following 10 questions...
1. Preference of seasons: winter, spring, summer, or fall?
2. If you could be a contestant on any game show, what would it be?
3. Travel by:plane, train, bus, or automobile?
4. Board games or video games?
5. What one item would you like to have on a desert island?
6. Fruits or veggies?
7. One historical event you remember prior to graduating from high school would be...?
8. Hobby?
9. Cup or cone of ice cream?
10. Music genre?

A Facelift...without the Botox
Many would probably agree that my blog may be "too young" for a facelift. However after stumbling across Vampire Craftin on Etsy with a poppy-themed etsy shop, I was madly in love. Field of Poppies is proudly named after the poppy scene in my favorite movie "The Wizard of Oz." So it would only be suitable that my blog reflect my love of poppies.
The problem.
I don't have an etsy shop anymore.
Quickly, I contacted Stacy, the Fangtastic creater,(she LOVES vampires and the supernatural) to ask if she could make the poppy themed etsy shop into a blog.
She chuckled.
I could hear her (LOL), because she is a blog designer.
She can do anything.
Really~ My heart began to smile bigger than the cheshire cat. I chose what I needed. Invited her over to my blog.
AND presto-changeo~
What you see is the result.
Fabulous- Right?
I love it~ Love it~ Love it~
So a BIG, HUMUNGOUS, GIGANTIC, SINCERE Thank You goes out to Stacy.
